Benevon trains and coaches nonprofit organizations to implement a mission-based system for raising sustainable funding from individual donors. This system ends the suffering about fundraising and builds passionate and committed lifelong donors.
The Benevon work environment is exciting and fast-paced. A candidate for this position must be focused, efficient, and able to prioritize work projects and effectively manage his/her time in an ever-changing environment. This candidate must have a demonstrated commitment to a career in editing and the work of the nonprofit sector.
We are currently seeking a publications editor.
The position requires the following skills and experience:
- B.A. in English or similar field (M.A. preferred) with at least one year of editing experience
- Demonstrated commitment to a career in editing and nonprofits
- Strong language, writing, editing, and communication skills
- Experience with marketing/PR style writing
- Ability to maintain style and grammar consistency, including familiarity with style guides and ability to adjust quickly to internal style
- Accuracy and a sharp eye for detail
- Excellent project management, organizational, and leadership skills
- Intermediate to advanced skills in Microsoft Office (especially PowerPoint, Word, and Excel)
- Intermediate graphic editing skills in Illustrator and Photoshop
- Basic understanding of HTML
- Flexible and willing to take on new responsibilities as needed
The responsibilities of the position may include, but are not limited to:
- Assembly and editing of the Benevon E-New$, our bi-weekly electronic newsletter
- Editing and managing content on the Benevon Web site
- Editing new books and managing the publication process
- Editing of instructor/coach manuals, handouts, overheads, PowerPoint presentations, and other training materials
- Coordination of new product rollout and changes to existing products
- Miscellaneous editing and writing for various departments, including Human Resources and Logistics
- Overseeing all reviews, articles, and other publications from or about Benevon and archiving them regularly
- Miscellaneous project management as needed
