Q: We're planning our first Ask Event^™ breakfast for this fall and are debating which day of the week would be best. I'm thinking that a Saturday at 9 a.m. might result in greater attendance, given that people would not have to juggle work, getting the kids to school, and we could start a little later (9 a.m. instead of 7:30), which would have the added benefit of allowing for travel in inclement weather. Do you have an opinion on which day of the week to choose?

A: In our experience, the best days for a breakfast event are in the middle of the week—Tuesday, Wednesday or Thursday. While Saturday seems like an obvious choice, especially if your guests would need to drive a long way to get to the venue, people's family activities often intervene and attendance can lag. I'd recommend sticking to a weekday.
