Involving People
Q: We are preparing to make our first Follow-Up Calls to the Point of Entry® Events. Our question relates to asking people how they see themselves getting involved with us. As a college, we have few volunteer opportunities and our need for in-kind gifts is very limited. Do you have any suggestions on how to handle this question if the person responds to it by asking, "What are the opportunities to become involved?" Susan in Florida A:If the people who came to your Point of Entry Event can't think of ways they would like to be involved with you, but would still like to volunteer and contribute in some way, you can always ask them to get involved in your fundraising program and perhaps be a Table Captain at an Ask Event™. Similarly, since they saw and liked the tour, perhaps they could get involved by inviting other people to your Point of Entry Events. In other words, don't hesitate to suggest things you really do need help with! Terry |
