Civic Event Presentations as Pre-Point of Entry Events
Q: I am invited to speak at various civic meetings, like Rotary Club meetings, every once in a while, and I'm wondering if there's a way to turn these presentations I do into Point of Entry® Conversion Events. Can you tell me how I might do that?
John in Wisconsin
A: Presentations you give at events like Rotary Club meetings can never really be Point of Entry Conversion Events because you don't have permission to capture people's names, but we say to treat these presentations like a "pre-Point of Entry" feeder event. In your presentation, give the Visionary Leader™ Talk and ideally one testimonial story or letter from a person whom your organization has served. Then tell people to come talk to you afterwards if they would like more information, would like to come to a real tour and see it all firsthand, or would like to host a Point of Entry Event at their workplace. You only have permission to follow up with those people who come up afterwards and give you their cards, but it's a great way to get new people coming to your Point of Entry Events.
