The Visionary Leader Talk and the Pitch Script

Q: We are about to hold our first Ask Event, and we have a great video and live testimonial planned. We will also have our Visionary Leader give a speech and have chosen someone to be the Pitch Person. However, I'm a little unclear about how these two pieces fit together. Do these speeches overlap in any way?

A: The Visionary Leader Talk and the speech given by your Pitch Person should complement one another. By the time the Pitch Person gets up to make the Ask, the Units of Service that you provide should be familiar to the guests. For example, the Units of Service for a summer camp might be Sponsoring a Camper, Sponsoring a Cabin, and Sponsoring a Camp. This should all have been laid out in the Visionary Leader Talk, the video, and the testimonials.

Your Ask Event program should build to a peak just before the Pitch Person comes on. The Visionary Leader Talk is like one piece of bread in the sandwich. The pitch is the other piece of bread. In between is all the good filling.
