Using the Ask Event Video

Q:  We held our first Ask Event this fall, for which we had a terrific video produced for us by a small, local company. The response to the video was very positive. Everyone raved about it, especially our board members, who now want to show it at every occasion available to us including our annual banquet and mentor recruitment presentations. Are there any guidelines about when, where, or how often we should use the video? My hesitation is that it may lose its impact by being too widely seen.

A:  That is great that your video was so successful. We recommend that you use the same video for a maximum of two years. Your video should be shown at your Ask Event, and it is also fine to show it at your annual banquet. However, videos should not be shown at Point of Entry® Events, which would include mentor recruitment presentations.

While it's true that the video would lose impact if shown too often, that is not the reason why you shouldn't show it at your Point of Entry. We want those smaller introductory meetings to feel more informal and high-touch. As soon as you get into video and PowerPoint, the Point of Entry loses its magical, intimate feel and becomes just another presentation.
